SUMMARY:Webinar: Exploring the Role of EDIHs in Supporting SMEs with the DPP
DESCRIPTION:As Platform Industrie 4.0\, we are not only a partner in the EDIH AI5production\, but we are also actively involved in CIRPASS-2\, the European flagship project on the Digital Product Passport (DPP). \nIn this context\, we warmly invite you to a collaborative webinar on Tuesday\, 23rd of September\, 13:00 – 14:30 CET where we aim to explore how/if EDIHs can support SMEs in implementing the DPP. \nWhat is the DPP? \nThe Digital Product Passport is a key element of the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). It aims to make product data — such as materials\, sustainability\, and repairability — digitally available to improve transparency and circularity. \nAll companies\, regardless of size\, will be affected by the DPP. However\, implementation will bring significant challenges\, especially for SMEs with limited experience in digitalization. Given that over 99% of European businesses are SMEs\, their successful integration of the DPP is essential. Supporting them is also a core goal of CIRPASS-2. \nWhy EDIHs? \nEDIHs are already established instruments for accelerating the digital transformation of SMEs across Europe. We believe that their expertise and regional reach position them ideally to support companies in understanding and implementing the DPP. \nThat’s why we would like to discuss – with you and other selected EDIHs – how these hubs could integrate the DPP into their service offerings. While some familiarity with the DPP is helpful\, we will provide a concise introduction at the beginning of the session. \nWebinar Agenda \n\nIntroduction to the DPP\nShort introductions by the participating EDIHs\nPresentation of potential EDIH-DPP support activities\nInteractive Discussion\n\nCan EDIHs support SMEs in DPP implementation? What are the opportunities and limitations?\nWhat support do EDIHs need to address this topic? (e.g. training materials\, ‘train the trainer’ programs)\nWhat would be an appropriate timeline for potential activities (e.g. in the context of the second funding phase)?\nWhat other factors should be considered?\n\n\nSummary and next steps\n\nIf this webinar proves fruitful\, we may open future discussions to a broader group of EDIHs. For now\, we’re keeping the group small to foster focused and productive exchange. \nWe would be delighted if you are interested in the DPP and wish to join this initial dialogue. We see this as an important first step in leveraging the EDIH network to help roll out the DPP across Europe. \nPlease let us know until 12th of September if a representative of your EDIH will join the webinar.
